Ambition Manchester is a newer MCC service that offers career development advice and support to people already in work. They’ve already helped many residents get into higher paying work, but until recently we never had any willing case studies ready to be filmed. So when I heard that a participant had come forward but needed to film essentially immediately, I grabbed my iPhone and a wireless mic and headed out the door.
With so little time to prepare. I didn’t have time to research anything about Hanna other than her name. But I quickly realised while interviewing her that she’s one of the most impressive people I’ve ever met! Not only are her achievements inspiring, but her energy and positivity are infectious, and it was a pleasure to work with her.
The stars rarely align to be able to tell a start-to-end true story of a public sector service helping a resident in such a direct way. I’m very glad they aligned in such a way as to let me tell this one.
